Coffee Chats
The coffee chats are a chance to meet members of our team and learn more about our projects and mission as the voice of the engineering community. We'd love the chance to get to know you and hear about your interest in joining the club. Sign-ups for Coffee Chats open in early September.
First Round
In this first round of applications, all students in the School of Engineering and Applied Science are eligible to apply through the MyPennClubs platform. Applicants will be asked to share why they want to join EDAB, provide some basic information so we can get to know them better, and evaluate a sample deliverable that simulates how we work with packets during our meetings. Applications open in the fall!
Second Round
The second round consists of an interview. Interviews are conducted in a 2-to-1 format and include questions designed to assess logic, reasoning, and critical thinking skills, as well as questions that help us learn more about the applicant and their motivation for joining EDAB. Each interview lasts approximately 15 minutes.
Approximately 10–12 applicants advance to the final round, and ultimately, 4–6 are selected to join EDAB! In this round, applicants are given a prompt outlining a current challenge facing the engineering community. They are asked to propose innovative and thoughtful solutions to address the issue, showcasing their creativity and problem-solving skills.
